Disipline of Thanksgiving

Recently, my husband and I were reminiscing about our trip to Indonesia a few years ago.  He reminded me of a “ritual” that we saw constantly while in Bali.  Each time we would visit a shop and purchase something, the shop owner would stop everything to thank god for that income.  It was a very humbling sight, as many times in the USA we forget to thank our Provider for these “small things”.  We were chatting about this because there are many disciplines that the hindu religion practice that we Christians could learn from.  It is easy to expect that God will provide, but to actually acknowledge His provision as it comes is a discipline of the heart that will forever change our outlook!  So, my challenge to you today is to take the time to thank God for His provision and His gifts to us as they come.  I would say to allow this to really become a part of you, allow your heart to be in a continual state of thanksgiving.  Be blessed.

I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. Psalm 34:1
