Belonging to the Right Hour

Good Morning All!!

This morning during my time in the Word, I was reading Acts 3.  I came across this passage and found it both insightful and encouraging, so I am sharing it with you all!  Enjoy.

Acts 3:1-10

“Now Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, being the ninth hour. And a certain man lame from his mother’s womb was carried , whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms of them that entered into the temple; Who seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple asked an alms. And Peter, fastening his eyes upon him with John, said , Look on us. And he gave heed unto them, expecting to receive something of them. Then Peter said , Silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk . And he took him by the right hand, and lifted him up : and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength . And he leaping up stood , and walked , and entered with them into the temple, walking , and leaping , and praising God. And all the people saw him walking and praising God: And they knew that it was he which sat for alms at the Beautiful gate of the temple: and they were filled with wonder and amazement at that which had happened unto him.”

When reading these verses, it really jumped out at me that this man had been lame from his mother’s womb and, therefore, had been laid DAILY at that gate called Beautiful.  If you look up the meaning of the word Beautiful here, it means Belonging to the right hour or season.  It was like each day that they laid him down there, they were hoping and expecting that this day would be that right hour or season for him to receive his healing.

Are there areas in your life that you have been struggling with?  Struggling for years even?  Or maybe there is a healing that you have been hoping for?  Well, I am seeing that there is a right hour and season for all of these things.  How do we get to that?  Well, by positioning yourself at the “door” for that right hour to descend upon you.  This man had been at that gate that was the right hour for years on a daily basis.  But it took one whom would be obedient to the leading of His Spirit to walk by and fasten his eyes upon him.  To see that he was waiting, expecting God to unleash His healing power.  Peter had to fasten his eyes upon the man – upon his assignment that brought him into function.

You see, I believe the answer to our needs may sometimes be two-fold:

1. We have to position ourselves.  That means, we need to maintain our relationship with Him, we need to be in the Word and in prayer.  Sometimes this is all it takes.  If we are faithful and standing believing God, He will pour out answers, healing, blessing, etc over us.  Sometimes, there is a second component.

2. Another believer being willing to step into their function to release the answer.  Sometimes, the healing or answer or blessing will only come by another believer stepping in a releasing it.  This is what Peter did.

So, I encourage you this day to make sure that you are in relationship with the Lord.  Pour out your heart to Him – let Him know what you are in need of, or just what the dreams of your heart are.  He will hear you and answer – or send the answer!

God Bless!
