It has been a long time since I have taken the time to sit down and reflect via blogging. I must admit, the “busy-ness” of life has overwhelmed me a bit in the past month. During December, I have been taking time to go through old journals, look at promises and goals and to just reflect on 2012. I reflected on the year in an interesting way: WHO did I become in 2012? As I look at the year, I see that I became a stronger person, a business woman, a person that created her own schedule, a person who had free time but spent it frivolously, a person that laughed more than in 2011, a person that valued the relationships in her life and a person who wanted to dream bigger than ever before. In light of this, I have instituted the following “plan of action” for 2013…
I have decided that I am going to dream in the year 2013. In order to do so, I have made some lists. Lists? That’s right, I love lists! So, I have lists of the things I want to accomplish in 2013: personal, business and spiritual. Now, this doesn’t seem too outstanding, but here is the twist…I am taking one of those list items each month and focusing on just that. One. One item per month to bring me inspiration and direction, to bring me to an expected end: an end that is FINISHED.
Now, there are other aspects of my 2013 plan that are more broad. Such as, I have scriptures and promises and quotes that are a broad proclamation of the year that I intend to have, but those are things I shall remember daily. Daily I will proclaim “…the more they afflicted them, the more they grew and multiplied!” I believe that this scripture from Exodus is for my year because I intend to rise above EVERYTHING that may come at me. I intend to be triumphant and finish the assignments that God and man have given me. I will no longer be one that shrinks back at the sight of affliction or hurdles, but one that goes full steam ahead into them because I know that God’s expected end for me is to grow and multiply.
For my 2013 inspiration, I will leave you with the following quote:
“Do all the good you can,
By all the means you can,
In all the ways you can,
In all the places you can,
At all the times you can,
To all the people you can,
As long as ever you can.”
Let us all INTEND to have a year of doing what is in our hearts and hands to do. Let us not just sit any longer, let us go out there and change lives – but let us start by changing our own.
